Meet Yulander

Yulander Wells, Jr.

Co-founder/CEO

Yulander Wells, Jr. currently serves as Harvard’s Deputy Athletic Director for External Operations and Relations. In his role, Wells provides strategic leadership and is responsible for broad supervision of the athletic department’s external units, which includes athletic communications, business development, ticketing, marketing, multimedia, alumni relations and development. He previously served as the University of South Florida Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Administration. As part of the USF Athletics Executive Team, Wells was responsible for major gift fundraising, strategic planning, football scheduling, and special projects.  While at USF, Wells also served as the Athletic Department’s Chief Financial Officer managing budgets in excess of $45 million dollars. During his tenure, he oversaw all aspects of financial and business operations, human resources, game contracts, facility master calendars, information technology, and equipment management. Additionally, he managed ticket operations, served as the direct management liaison for several third-party partners responsible for ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, food and beverage, and arena management. His sport administration experience includes Baseball, Softball, and Men’s Soccer. Although not the direct oversight for Football and Basketball programs, his intimate involvement with coaches contracts, agents, budget management, recruiting visits and student-athlete relationships made him a highly regarded professional in the intercollegiate athletics industry. Before USF, Wells worked as the Assistant Controller for the University of Florida Athletics Association, Inc. and Gator Boosters, Inc., as well as the Accounting Manager for Angie’s List and in multiple accounting roles for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Chicago and Indianapolis.

A leader driven by a philosophy to serve, partner, inspire and excel, he uses these pillars as his compass to operate with integrity, inclusiveness, commitment, and with a winning attitude.  He is fully committed to the success of all students, has a deep and abiding devotion to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and establishing a best is the standard culture. It is his core belief that academics and athletics are essential for the holistic development of all students, and the ability to be a high performer in both are not mutually exclusive.

Each day, he is reminded of the benefits he received during his years as a Division III basketball and track student-athlete at North Central College. Fortunate in his career to have experience as a Division III student-athlete, assistant basketball coach, and a Division I administrator, his clear understanding and unique ability to lead both the internal and external units of an intercollegiate athletic department bodes well for supporting the academic and competitive excellence of University students and being a positive outreach vehicle to drive the University’s mission forward.

Yulander’s expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and fundraising has allowed him to be an active resource in the community and in his profession. He is an active member with his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., has served on the board of the YMCA, served as President for the Collegiate Athletics Business Management Association, served as a Finance Committee Member for the College Football 150th Anniversary, Sport Management Instructor at the University of South Florida and the University of Florida, and volunteer basketball coach at The Skills Center.
